# Bridge Design

## How to design a dental bridge

## Instructions

### Step 1

Create a new case, load the necessary data, and click the \[Design] button to start the design process.

### Step 2

AI automatically detects and displays the abutment tooth, tooth notation, and margin line. It also detects missing teeth that can be connected as a bridge. For modification methods, refer to *4.8. Modification.*

{% hint style="danger" %} **Caution**

Verify whether the detected abutment tooth, tooth notation, and margin line are accurate. If necessary, manually modify them.
{% endhint %}

The detected missing area center point can be adjusted by dragging it with the mouse.

If a prepared tooth is adjacent to a pontic, it is automatically connected as a bridge.
{% endhint %}

### Manual Bridge Connection Settings

#### Step 2-a

Click the link button between the teeth you want to connect as a bridge.

{% hint style="info" %} **Quick Guide**

If an abutment tooth is adjacent to a pontic, it is automatically connected as a bridge.
{% endhint %}

#### Step 2-b

Select all areas to be connected as a bridge, then click the \[Apply] button.

{% hint style="success" %} **Success**

If connecting three or more teeth, click all necessary link buttons before clicking \[Apply].
{% endhint %}

### Step 3

Click the \[Generate] button in the lower-left corner to create the bridge. If data is available, the adjacent and opposing teeth are considered during generation.

### Step 4

Modify the generated bridge shape if needed, or click the \[Export] button at the top to save the crown design. For modification methods, refer to [Modification](/dentbird-crown/quick-start/modification.md).

{% hint style="info" %} **Quick Guide**

When saving the designed bridge, margin line information (in .constructioninfo file format) is also extracted for bridge processing.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://imagoworks.gitbook.io/dentbird-crown/quick-start/bridge-design.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
