Smart Alignment

How to align 3D scan data in a case

Quick Guide

3Dme Cloud automatically diagnoses the alignment between the scan data and suggests the optimal alignment. The data pairs to be diagnosed are:

  • Bite & Upper Base

  • Bite & Lower Base

  • Upper Base & Upper Pre-op

  • Lower Base & Lower Pre-op

Instruction

Step 1

When data is loaded, it is automatically diagnosed and the result is shown to the user.

Quick Guide

The alignment status is evaluated based on the area and average distance of adjacent regions between the data, and the result is indicated as below.

  • Alignment Required: Unable to align

When selected, 3-point based manual alignment required

  • Smart Align Available: Aligned, but can be changed to a more optimal state When selected, automatic optimization available

  • Ready to Design: Optimal alignment

Step 2-1

Data in ‘Smart Align Available’ state is optimized with just one click.

Step 2-2

When the data in the ‘Alignment Required’ state is selected, it enters the 3-point based alignment mode and can be aligned by specifying 3 or more points each at the same location on both data.

Notice

Although crown design is possible under nonoptimal alignment, it is recommended to optimize the alignment between data for more accurate results.
