When you click the [Base] menu on the main toolbar at the bottom, the base tool panel will be activated on the left.
You can define the base type. Dentbird Modeler offers three types of bases.
Plateless: Plateless refers to a model without a base plate.
Plate: Plate includes a base plate at the bottom of the model.
ABO: ABO follows the American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) standard for base design.
Quick guide
When selecting Plate or ABO, a size slider will be activated at the bottom. You can adjust the width of the base using the size slider.
1.1 Bevel
Form a bevel on the base edge.
1.2 Curved
It connects the edge of the scan data to the base with a curved contour.
Caution
Curved is enabled when Plateless is selected. Selecting Curved increases the width of the bottom base by 1mm.
Adjust the overall length of the model, including the base, using the slider.
Choose the method for filling the model. Dentbird Modeler offers three filling types
Hollow: Keep the interior of the model empty while maintaining a structure on the exterior.
Hollow(honeycomb): Fill the interior with a honeycomb structure.
Solid: Fill the entire model.
Adjust the thickness of the base using the slider.
Caution
When the fill type is set to Solid, the Thickness option is deactivated.
Set the number of drain holes and adjust their position using the slider.
Quick guide
You can create between 2 and 20 drain holes.
Caution
When the fill type is set to Solid, the Drain hole option is deactivated.
Display the occlusal plane on the model in the 3D view. You can turn the occlusal plane on or off by checking or unchecking the checkbox.
You can view a preview of the base shape before it is generated.
Apply all changes to the model.
