Mesh Edit

When you click Mesh Edit from the main toolbar at the bottom, the mesh editing tool panel will appear on the left.

Mesh Editing Tools

1. Trim

1.1 Smart Selection

Automatically selects unnecessary areas in the scan data. The selected areas will be highlighted.

  • Range: Use the slider to expand or reduce the selected area.

  • Trim: Deletes the selected area.

1.2. Lasso

Use the polygon tool in the 3D viewer to draw and select the area you want to trim.

  • Selection mode: Toggle between select and deselect mode.

  • Selected area option: Invert or deselect the selected area. This function is enabled when an area is selected.

  • Trim: Deletes the selected area.

1.3 Brush

Use the brush tool to select the trimming area on the mesh.

  • Selection mode: Toggle between select and deselect mode.

  • Brush size: Adjust the brush size using the slider.

  • Selected area option: Invert or deselect the selected area. This function is enabled when an area is selected.

  • Trim: Deletes the selected area.

1.4 Border line

Draw a boundary on the upper or lower jaw to select an area. The area outside the boundary will be trimmed.

  • Arch: Select the arch to be trimmed.

Quick Guide

After selecting the arch, only the selected arch will be visible in the 3D viewer.

Caution

If you exit to another arch or tool before completing the border line, the current border line will be reset.

  • Edit mode: Choose how to draw the border line. You can select between Point Mode and Pen Mode.

  • Clear: Deletes and resets the created border line.

  • Trim: Deletes the selected area.


2. Self-intersections

Used to detect and repair overlapping areas on the mesh surface.

  • Select all: Selects all currently detected self-intersecting areas.

  • Deselect all: Deselects all currently selected areas.

  • Remove: Removes all selected areas.


3. Fill hole

Fills selected holes in the scan data detected by AI. By default, the AI automatically detects and selects holes. You can deselect a hole by clicking its boundary, or reselect a deselected hole.

  • Select all: Selects all currently unselected holes.

  • Deselect all: Deselects all currently selected holes.

  • Fill holes: Fills all selected holes.

Quick Guide

All holes detected by AI are automatically selected. Holes that are not detected cannot be filled.


4. Sculpt

Freely modify the shape of the scan data using brush tools.

4.1 Add

Add material to the mesh surface.

4.2 Remove

Remove material from the mesh surface.

4.3 Smooth

Smooth the mesh surface.

4.4 Flatten

Flatten the mesh surface.

  • Brush size: Adjust the size of the brush tool. The current brush radius value is displayed.

  • Strength: : Adjust the strength of the brush.

  • Sync brush size to zoom state: Toggle whether the brush size syncs with the zoom level in the 3D viewer. If enabled, the brush size will change according to the zoom level.
