Base
When you click Base on the bottom main toolbar, the Base Editing Tools panel opens on the left.

Base Editing Tools

1. Base target
Select the arch for which you want to create a base.
1.1 Upper & Lower
Turns on bases for both the upper and lower arches. The upper and lower base planes and the occlusal plane are displayed.
1.2 Upper only
Turns on the base for the upper arch only. The upper base plane and the occlusal plane are displayed.
1.3 Lower only
Turns on the base for the lower arch only. The lower base plane and the occlusal plane are displayed.
1.4 None
Turns off bases for both arches. The bases and the occlusal plane are hidden.
2. Base type
Choose a base type. Three types are available.
2.1 Plateless Type
No model base is added.
2.2 Plate Type
Adds a model base.
2.3 ABO
Uses a base design that follows the American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) standard.
Bevel: Chamfers the outer edge of the base.
Curved: Connects the model edges to the base with a curved contour.
Caution
If Plateless is selected, Curved is disabled. Also, when Curved is enabled, the bottom base width increases by 1 mm.
3. Height
Use the slider to adjust the overall length (height) of the model including the base.
4. Fill Type
Choose how the model interior is filled. Three options are available.
4.1 Hollow type
Empties the model interior.
4.2 Hollow (honeycomb) type
Fills the interior with a honeycomb structure.
4.3 Solid type
Fills the entire interior.
5. Thickness
Use the slider to set the base thickness.
Caution
If Solid is selected for Fill Type, Thickness is disabled.
6. Drain hole
Set the number of drain holes and use the slider to adjust their positions.
Caution
If Solid is selected for Fill Type, Drain hole is disabled.
7. Alignment
Displays the occlusal plane on the model in the 3D view.
reset: Click to restore the occlusal plane to its default state.
occlusal plane: Check to turn on the occlusal plane.
