How to design a dental crown (Implant)

Instructions

Step 1

Create a new case, load the necessary data, and click the [Design] button to start the design process.

Step 2

AI automatically detects and displays the abutment tooth and tooth notation.

Step 3

Change the prosthesis type to Implant Crown.

Step 4

Click the Select Library menu in the Wheel Menu.

Step 5

Select the appropriate library for the implant (Company, Implant, Type, and Subtype).

Click the library dropdown to search for the desired model. Click the star icon on the right to add it to your favorites.

Step 6

Once all categories are selected, proceed to the alignment stage. Follow the image displayed on the left panel and select a point on the scan body to align the library with the scan data. Click [Apply] to confirm the alignment. If manual adjustments are needed, enable Manual Adjustment and use the control box to manually reposition the library.

Quick Guide

At the bottom of the screen, you can view the currently selected implant library and type.

You can also perform 3-point-based alignment by clicking the panel button . The Reset button can be used to reset the alignment.

Step 7

Review the aligned abutment and click [Apply]. To add a screw hole, check the corresponding box.

Quick Guide

Screw holes can be added or removed even after crown generation. You can now proceed with crown generation.

Step 8

Click the [Generate] button in the lower-left corner or in the Wheel Menu to create the crown. If data is available, the crown is generated while considering adjacent and opposing teeth.

Step 9

Modify the generated crown shape if needed, or click the [Export] button at the top to save the crown design. For crown shape modification methods, refer to 4.8. Modification.

Quick Guide

When saving the designed crown, margin line information (in .constructioninfo file format) is also extracted for crown processing.
