Crown Design (Natural tooth)

How to design a single crown

Instructions

Step 1

After creating a case for the crown in Dentbird Cloud and loading the necessary data, click the [Crown] button to enter Dentbird Crown. (See New Crown Case for data upload.)

Step 2

AI automatically finds the prepared teeth, tooth number, and margin line.

Step 3

If you click the [Generate Crown] button on the bottom left corner, AI will generate the optimal crown shape taking into account proximal and antagonist teeth (if the data is available).

Quick Guide

If there are multiple preps in the scan data, each prep and its corresponding margin line are automatically found, and the crowns are designed at the same time.

Step 4

At the top Process Indicator, click on [Modification] to edit the crown's shape, or click the [Export] button at the bottom to save the crown design file.

Quick Guide

When saving the designed crown, margin line information (.sci file) is also extracted for crown processing.

Step 4-1

You can use the mirror, copy or pre-op feature to copy the opposite or original tooth. (See Crown Type for more details.)

Caution

If the tooth that is being copied is not in normal shape, the result may not be optimal.

Step 5

Click the [v] mark next to the case name then 'Save and quit' to return to Dentbird Cloud.
